The Big Conversation is an annual event that shines the spotlight on Australia’s 46,000 homeless women.
Foreign Minister Bob Carr delivered the keynote address at our inaugural event in Sydney in October 2012, helping to highlight the issues faced by homeless and disadvantaged women in Australia and abroad.
The Big Conversation brings together community and business leaders to help identify the causes of women’s homelessness and find possible solutions.
At The Big Issue, we’re tackling the problem through our Women’s Subscription Enterprise, which provides job opportunities to vulnerable women through subscription sales to our magazine.
The women sort and pack the magazines for dispatch to subscribers, giving them an income and access to accredited training and support.
The Big Conversation will return in 2013. Click here to view photos from the 2012 event.
