Classroom launches in Canberra

The Big Issue Classroom now offers workshops in Canberra, giving school groups an opportunity to gain insights into social issues.

The Big Issue launched the Classroom in 2009 to engage with students and break down stereotypes around homelessness and disadvantage.

The one-hour workshops include interactive learning activities and the personal story of a guest speaker who has experienced disadvantage.

Around the country, more than 85,000 students have participated in the program. Workshops are also available in Melbourne, Sydney and online via the eClassroom.
