Corporate Classroom

Corporate Classroom + The Big Issue Challenge

Designed for the workplace, The Big Issue Corporate Classroom is an engaging workshop offering corporate groups a real life insight into homelessness, marginalization and disadvantaged as experienced by over 100,000 Australians every night.

All workshops are presented by an experienced facilitator and include a personal account of homelessness and disadvantage from a guest speaker, often one of the Big Issue vendors.

The session also explores the role of social enterprise in our changing economy.

Benefits to your organsiation

The Big Issue Corporate Classroom is a great complement to any leadership and personal development program. By incorporating The Big Issue Corporate Classroom into your workplace staff will;

  • Enhance their emotional intelligence and develop a greater empathy towards those experiencing hardship
  • Developing insights into communicating with diverse groups of people within our community
  • Understand the role of social enterprise in Australia's bid to alleviate poverty
  • Consider options available to make socially responsible choices in everyday life.

Whilst normally held for groups of up to 30 staff, larger groups can be accommodated and facilitators can tailor content to meet your objectives. Sessions can be conducted onsite at your workplace or at the offices of The Big Issue.

By taking part in The Big Issue Corporate Classroom you will not only provide your staff with a unique development opportunity but you will be creating employment for disadvantaged Australians as guest speakers.

For Katrina to share her life experiences in front of an audience, reliving her past yet speaking positively about the future made for a lot of self-re-evaluation from all in attendance
