In the latest Big Issue, discover the multicultural community kitchen making a difference after the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Originally a safe haven for survivors of the devastating fire, the Hubb Community Kitchen is now nourishing the community seven days a week – thanks to the success of a fundraising cookbook inspired by Meghan Markle.

Meghan tells us: “I have a lifelong interest in the story of food – where it comes from, why we embrace it and how it brings us together, the universal connection to community through the breaking of bread.”

Also in this edition:

• We talk to director Barry Jenkins about his much-awaited new film, If Beale Street Could Talk, and what it was like following up on his Oscar-winning film, Moonlight.
• Global warming ain’t a myth! Photographer Tom Hegen renders the impacts of climate change in heartbreaking beauty.
• Author Ben Okri uses his masterful way with words to take on the political issues of our generation. He’s appearing at Perth Festival Writers Week and Adelaide Writers’ Week.
• Live vicariously though a teacher who tells the hilarious, and surprisingly educational, tale of becoming a student for a day.
