Magazine Readership Up For 2019

The Big Issue has had a mag-nificent 2019 with our magazine readership increasing 8.7% over the past year.

New figures released by Roy Morgan Australian Readership report have found The Big Issue’s readership increased to 288,000 readers during the 2019 year. The Big Issue is one of only five general interest magazines that have increased their readership since the previous year.

When you buy a copy of The Big Issue, you’re helping to support vendors who are experiencing homelessness, marginalisation and disadvantage. The more people who are reading the magazine, the more opportunities are had to positively impact people who are going through tough times. Vendors tell us that the magazine not only provides a meaningful income, but provides a connection to their community, independence and empowerment to improve their circumstances.

In light of this fantastic news we would like to thank our readers who have supported us, and in turn have supported our vendors.

If you would like to purchase a copy of the magazine but don’t know where your local vendor is, contact your local state office or consider subscribing to the magazine. All subscriptions are packed by our Women’s Subscription Enterprise, which provides work opportunities for women experiencing homelessness, marginalisation and disadvantage.
